For as long as I can remember I’ve had big ideas and visions of grandeur. Just ask my mother; she still has my handwritten diagram of the backyard carnival (complete with rented roller coaster) that I planned when I was 8! Never happened, by the way, but a girl can dream and I was most definitely a dreamer. I grew up, became a Social Worker, a wife and a mother of two, but the big ideas kept coming. It was inevitable that someday I would find a way to indulge and cultivate my ideas for the greater good. After several years of getting my feet wet planning corporate events, Inspired Occasions Weddings & Events was born. What started eight years ago as an outlet for my creativity quickly morphed into a service-oriented business based on one core value . . . caretaking. Sure my staff and I have the skills to make an event beautiful, but after years of working with couples, their families and friends, we’ve learned that the most important part of what we do is taking care of people. Whether it’s helping a couple create and stick to a budget, sewing a bride’s bra to her dress so that it doesn’t show when she walks down the aisle, keeping track of our the Bridal Party’s belongings or having a tissue ready for Mom at just the right time, it is in these moments that we are doing our best work.
